One of the great things about being Principal of our great school is the fact that I often get to learn about some of the great milestones that are happening in the lives of our wonderful staff, like engagements, weddings and babies!

One of the not so great things about being Principal of our great school is the fact that I often get to learn about some of the other milestones that are happening in the lives of our wonderful staff.

Today it is a bit of both! The sad part is that we are having to say good-bye to our long serving Bursar, Mrs Gillian Burmeister. Gill has been involved in the school for 20 years, firstly as a parent, then as a member of the School Board and then as Bursar. Gill has held this last position for the past 12 years. When Gill started as Bursar the school population was around 85 students; it is now 176. As the school has grown, so have the responsibilities that Gill has had to deal with.

The good news is that Gill will only be moving to Orange Christian School to take up the position of Business Manager. This will be a step up for Gill with a larger student popula-tion and a larger corresponding budget to cope with. After working with Gill for the past 3½ years I am sure that Gill will handle all of these new challenges with a great deal of en-thusiasm and positivity.

Anyone who has watched Gill’s journey over the past 18 months, or even longer, will be aware of the incredible ride she has been on – a wedding last year, a honeymoon in Europe, the sale of her house, the purchase of a house in Orange and now a new job.

I am sure that you will all join me in wishing blessing upon blessing on Gill as she embarks on the next stage of this crazy voyage called life.

The Board knows that it will be an extremely important job of finding not just a replace-ment for Gill but also someone that is capable of helping our school to achieve it’s full po-tential as we continue to grow.

God Bless
Graham
