On Tuesday this week Libby Pepper and Emma Greenland travelled to Cumnock to compete in the final stage of the CWA Public Speaking Competition.

Earlier this term Emma Greenland, Tom Unger, Yuan Rivera, Libby Pepper and Leilani Lavaka had participated in the Oxley division of the CWA Public Speaking competition with Emma and Libby being selected from the schools of Parkes, Forbes and Condoblin to move to the final stage of the competition.

Emma (Year 8) and Libby (Year 4) competed against students from schools in the CWA divi-sions of Central Western, Oxley and Far West-ern. These divisions include schools from Bath-urst through to Bourke.

Emma presented a 3 minute speech entitled So-cial Media and demonstrated her ability to re-search, write and present high quality speeches.

Libby earned first prize for her entertaining and well-presented speech. Libby received prize money of $40 and a beautiful book for our school library. Congratulations to both girls for your hours of preparation and the skill demon-strated. We appreciate your efforts and congrat-ulate you both! Well done!
