Year 11 students participated in the 2019 Tertiary Awareness Excursion on Wednesday, 30 April. Mr Westcott safely transported the students and I to Red Bend Catholic College, Forbes campus.

The Tertiary Awareness Excursion allowed students to explore tertiary options and other post school opportunities by visiting exhibitions and asking questions. The exhibitions showcased universities from NSW, Victoria and Tasmania, as well as specialised Arts, Business and Computing Colleges. Other exhibitions were from the Australian Defence Force, TAFE NSW, Teaching NSW and VET related careers. Apprenticeships and Traineeships from Country Energy, Northparkes Mines and others were also of interest. The students asked insightful questions and collected useful resources and freebies from the exhibitions. Some freebies were more sought after than others, and students wore their freebies back to school.

Thank you to the students who assisted me with the boxes and bags of information that were transported back to school to share with year 10 and 12 students and our amazing careers teacher Miss Oates. I would also like to thank Red Bend Catholic College for hosting the event at their campus and for the kind and warm welcome we received from staff and students.

Mrs Lynn.
