Goodbye Once Again…

And just like that, another term has come to an end. Maybe it’s because I am getting older, but the days and weeks just seem to go by faster and faster! For so many reasons I would love for things to slow down, not least of which is the fact that here we are again saying goodbye to another amazing Year 12 class.

Amongst the end of Year 12 festivities; amazing races, dress ups, disco’s, day trips, breakfasts, assemblies and a graduation, the significance of saying goodbye to this year group is not lost on me. 13 years of schooling has come to an end, but more than that, losing students who have invested so heavily in helping form the positive student culture, gives us cause to stop and reflect not only on what students have received, but what they have given the school in return.

I have no doubt that your various pathways from here will be as varied as they will be interesting, but on behalf of the school staff and broader community, we say congratulations, all the very best and pray God’s richest blessing over you as they go. May you never forget how valuable you are to Christ, what He has done for you, and how He wants you to view yourself.

Students on a Mission – From Moree to Goodooga

As the principal I have the awesome opportunity to attend a lot of our school excursions. If there is half an opportunity for me to be somewhere away from school with our classes, I’ll be there! For me there is nothing better than getting away with our students, having some fun and making heaps of positive memories. There is no better environment in which you can get to know students, and vice versa, than on a school excursion. I have been on heaps over the years, but I have to say that the latest mission trip was right up there as one of the most satisfying trips away ever. From Moree to Goodooga, seeing students work selflessly for the benefit of others, stretching themselves in unfamiliar circumstances, sharing parts of their own testimonies and gaining fresh perspectives was incredible.

Whilst I had so many highlights from the trip, some of the best moments were hearing our students share part of their story/testimony with others as a means of encouragement. It reminded me that everybody has a story, everybody has something going on, and most importantly, everybody has significant moments in their lives (big or small), where God is evident; we just have to take the time to stop and identify it. Seeing our students do this in their own lives was a huge blessing to all who heard them speak, especially me! We went to be a blessing, but there is no doubt that it was us who were blessed.

Can I extend my deepest gratitude to all those who donated to our PCS shoe drive. With your generous donations, we were able to purchase and deliver 70 pairs of shoes to our mission partners in Moree and Collarenebri! These shoes will go directly onto the feet of some of the most needy and vulnerable children, and most importantly, help kids go to school with confidence and a sense of dignity. Thank you PCS.

To the 2025 Senior Mission Team, congratulations on a job well done. Whether it is on the mission field, or in our day to day life, let’s be committed to meeting the needs of others, and bringing heaven to earth in whatever capacity we can!

Have an amazing holiday PCS. Thank you again for your continued partnership. I look forward to seeing you next term as we look to wrap up 2025!

Have a great holiday.
