Look at Us Now!

Parkes Christian School has been a lot of things to me over the years. It started out as a job in the school office covering Hayley Ballantyne as she was off on maternity leave around 15 years ago. It quickly became much more than a simple 9 to 5 and as I moved into my role as a classroom teacher, onto the welfare team and now as High School Coordinator and a member of the School Executive it is clear to me this is a place where we all change and develop as people. Over the years Parkes Christian School has been a support network, a family, a team, a place to learn, grow and lead as well as a place to have a few shared laughs and tears. Through all of the seasons of this school the staff, students and families have journeyed together as a team united in our dedication to quality education and Christ centred learning with a constant focus on people.

This is why I feel very comfortable telling people that Parkes Christian School just might be the school for them. I am living proof of what a supportive environment can do. From the initial investigation at our Expo and the moment parents complete their enrolment forms and students walk through the door of their Kindy classes all the way through to the nervous first day of Year 7 and the final walk out the gates through the guard of honor on their last day of Year 12 we are all invested in seeing the best for all the people that get to spend time here.

Our students are our greatest achievements. Seeing our Year 7 group come back from Cru Camp last week with new friendships, a desire to get in and learn more, and a heap of questions about God is so exciting. I can’t wait to see what decisions they will make, get to know each individual and what excites them in life and see them grow in their personalities. Maybe in the mix there will be the next Charlotte who has just started her own Book Club at school, maybe the next William or Lexi gracing the stage with their skills and big performing energy. Maybe there will be the next Ag superstar, coder extraordinaire, dancer, captain of the team, fastest person in the Central West, business owner, doctor or maybe they will get to be their perfect self. Whoever that is! I just can’t wait to see it!

Our Expo is on this week ahead, so don’t miss this opportunity to begin something amazing in your lives and the lives of your children. We would love to meet any new families interested in partnering with us to raise up the next generation of people who care, put kindness at the forefront of their lives and know that they have a purpose in the world.

Hope to see you there.
