Postponed – Zoo Excursion – Day Trip (K-2)
June 3 @ 8:00 am - 2:45 pm
The K-2 Dubbo Zoo excursion has been postponed until Term 3.
With the weather forecast of 90% likelihood of rain for Dubbo tomorrow and 50% in Parkes the K-2 teachers agree that this is not conducive to an enjoyable walk and picnic day to see and discuss the amazing animals for the students.
An alternative date in Term 3 closer to Spring will be planned and information will be emailed.
On Friday 3 June, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2, will be going to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo to engage in learning in relation to units covered in Science this year, including: Living things unit in Kindy, Importance of Water and the Living World in Stage 1.
They will need to bring; a hat, their morning tea, lunch and a drink bottle. All items need to be clearly labelled.
Children are asked to wear their full sports uniform.
Students will also have the opportunity to observe native animals and learn about animals who are usually found in other countries and environments. Students will recount and respond to this excursion (spoken/written), integrating learning with literacy.
Students will be travelling by bus to Dubbo, leaving at 8:00am and will return in time for the buses.
