GRIP Leadership Conference (Primary Captains/Vice/House)
On Wednesday 27 April our Primary School Captains, Vice Captains and House Captains will be going to the Grip Leadership Conference in Dubbo and will be leaving from PCS at 7:15am. Please wear your Full Winter Uniform. The day will include listening to and participating in activities to encourage the development of leadership skills and qualities within the primary school captains and vice captains. The students will also have an opportunity to speak with Students from other schools during the day. Students need to bring a packed morning tea, lunch and a drink bottle (in a small bag).

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a point in time assessment of literacy and numeracy skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in the annual NAPLAN tests in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. CWA Junior Public Speaking Competition
PCS students Chelsea Ray, Matthew Thompson, Grace Mayo and Heidi Barker have been selected to represent Parkes Christian School at the CWA Oxley Group Junior Public Speaking Contest. The contest will be held at Forbes Uniting Church, Brown St, Forbes on Tuesday 24th May 2022 with registration at 10:30am and the competition beginning at 11:00am. Students are welcome to travel with their families to Forbes. Alternative travel arrangements can be made for those families unable to take their child to Forbes on the day. On Tuesday 31st May PCS Drama students, prospective Drama students and cast member of Wendy and Peter Pan will be participating in an activity at school tomorrow with Swoop Physical Theatre.There is no cost and it is during school hours, but they will need to wear comfortable clothes (jeans are not suitable) to school that they can easily move in as the sessions will be very practical.

The K-2 Dubbo Zoo excursion has been postponed until Term 3.With the weather forecast of 90% likelihood of rain for Dubbo tomorrow and 50% in Parkes the K-2 teachers agree that this is not conducive to an enjoyable walk and picnic day to see and discuss the amazing animals for the students.
