Year 8 – An Act of Generosity

This week in chapel high school students learnt about the concept of generosity. So on Wednesday, Year 8 combined their History lesson with an act of generosity.

Year 8 are studying Japan under the Shoguns and on Wednesday they investigated the history of paper and origami, which most people think is Japanese in origin. However, Year 8 found that Buddhist monks took the art of origami from China to Japan in the 5th Century and from there origami flourished in Japan especially in the 15th Century.

After making a variety of origami creations, Year 8 visited Year 1 and gave each student in Year 1 a origami masterpiece as a show of generosity.
