Be An Example To All!

Memory Verse: 1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

During the first two weeks of school the memory verse really spoke to the Primary students. Each day the Primary students are sponges soaking up everything they can to learn not only in the education realm but how to navigate all things in life. They then demonstrate this knowledge and behaviour on a daily basis.

This year marks 20 years of teaching in Primary schools for myself and I never get tired of seeing how the Primary school students are the example to those around them.

From our youngest students, the Kindy caterpillars who have come so far in their confidence; both in the classroom and in the playground. From their very first day of Kindergarten to now celebrating 100 days of being at school.

Year 1 Hawks ran assembly at the end of Week 2, they flew high, showcasing their confidence to speak into the microphone, bounce balls to classical music and present all they had learnt in class to the whole Primary school and parent body.

While walking through the playground Year 2 students can be observed helping pick up rubbish, add room for another student to join their game and recently come to the aid of a student requiring their Asthma puffer. Kindness and care in action.

Year 3 and Year 4 students shone brightly by the way they carried themselves and represented PCS out in the wider community when visiting the Parkes Shire Library and interacting with the staff with great manners and respect.

The Year 5 and Year 6 students regularly step up into leadership roles on a weekly basis or have the confidence to enter competitions to test out their skills in such events as Innov8, Speak up! or the myriad of sporting gala days.

Primary students, you may be some of the youngest students at PCS but don’t let anyone think less of you, you are all amazing, intelligent, capable young people who are an example to all who meet you. Keep being that example by what you say, how you live and by your faith!
