On Tuesday, 27 February, 16 students and 2 staff members embarked on a journey to Sydney for the CSSA Hockey Gala Day. The trip down was enjoyable, with music and lively conversations. Once in Sydney, they had a good meal at a local restaurant and a restful night’s sleep.
The next morning, after an early breakfast, they headed to the hockey fields. The girls’ team had an exceptional day, winning all their games but narrowly losing 1-0 in the semi-finals. The boys’ team performed admirably, making it to the finals and finishing second overall. Both teams displayed great sportsmanship and teamwork.
A big thank you to Mr. Greef for stepping in at the last minute and joining us on the trip as well coaching and guiding the boys on the day. Thanks to Mrs. Deen-Moody for her dedicated training of the boys. Her absence on the day was felt, and she was missed.
I am incredibly proud of each student for their hard work and excellent performance on the day. Despite the challenging and humid conditions, they all gave their best, and it truly paid off.
