Another year of learning has come to an end at Parkes Christian School! What a year this has been for our school community. Over the next week, we will take the opportunity to reflect on the year that has been, and celebrate the achievements of our students across a range of areas. Our Final Assembly and Presentation Night are two events that I really enjoy. As teachers we spend our year sowing into the lives of our students; and now is an occasion where we can stop and celebrate the achievements of our students across a range of areas, both in and out of the classroom. I love having the opportunity to acknowledge students who have shown great levels of perseverance, character, academic performance or a whole host of other achievements or have demonstrated inspiring personal qualities.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the parent community for your support over these first 6 months of my Principalship. I accepted this role because I love and believe in this school and the broader community, and have a great desire to see kids in the country have access to the same high standard of education as their city counterparts. Your support in this mission has been greatly encouraging to me. The more we view education as a partnership between school and home, the greater impact we are able to have on your children; our students. With my own firstborn finishing Kindergarten next week, I have been able to access a whole new perspective on the importance and power of quality Christian education. It has been a surreal experience as all of you understand. For me personally, it has only strengthened my resolve to commit myself and my staff to serve you and to provide the best education possible.
I pray a safe, blessed and holy Christmas for each family, filled with quality family time. Remember that this truly is the season to celebrate, acknowledge and remember our King and Saviour Jesus Christ who is the reason we are all part of this great community of Parkes Christian School.
Be blessed in all you do and Merry Christmas!
